Mark the perfect man , and behold the upright; For there is a happy end to the man of peace. Psalm 37:37. Our beloved Paul Antonio Bennett passed away on Tuesday, January 8, 2019 at his home in Somerset, New Jersey with his family by his side. He was 58 years old. He was the son of Helena Mavis Mullings (Dixon) and the late Leighton A. Bennett.

Paul Antonio Bennett was born on August 26, 1960, in Kingston, Jamaica where he lived until he was a teenager. Paul completed his secondary education at St. George’s College Roman Catholic High School in Kingston, Jamaica. After completing his high school education in Jamaica Paul moved to Bronx, New York with his father, Leighton Bennett, and his stepmother, Barbara Bennett. He attended Pratt Institute of Technology in Brooklyn, New York where he received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering on June 3, 1983. Paul worked for the United States Army, Picatinny Arsenal in Wharton, New Jersey as a Mechanical Engineer for 35 years. Some of his career accomplishments included: Fire Power Technology Award (November 2018), Six Sigma Green Belt Certified (February 2001) and Honorable Order of St. Barbara (December 1998).

Paul married Sandra Abel Bennett on August 21, 1993. From this union two sons were born, Brandon and Corey. They were married for 25 years.

Paul was an avid traveler and cherished family trips abroad to destinations including Australia, Fiji, Tahiti, India, Jamaica, and Europe. His favorite professional team was the New York Giants. Also, he enjoyed watching the basketball and football games of his favorite college teams, University of Pittsburgh and Temple University.

Preceding him in death was his father, Leighton A. Bennett, his paternal grandparents, Arnold and Iris Bennett, his maternal grandfather Jessie Distant, and his uncle Laurel Bennett.
Paul leaves to cherish his memory his devoted wife of 25 years, Sandra Bennett of Somerset, NJ; his loving sons Brandon and Corey Bennett; his mother Helena (Gerald) Mullings of Mount Vernon, New York ; step mother Barbara Bennett of Haymarket, Virginia ; two sisters, Verna (Eddie) Velasquez of Valencia, California; and Tonya (Michael) Lawrence of Bristow, Virginia; one brother, Akeino (Helen) Mullings of New Rochelle, New York; three nieces, Kelly Abel, Marissa Velasquez and Amarise Mullings; four nephews, Rico Velasquez, Michael Lawrence, Nathaniel Lawrence and Kayden Mullings; a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
