Obituary for Johann Marie Schaaf

Johann Marie Schaaf, 86, passed away peacefully Friday, November 02, 2018 at
Parker Home in Somerset, New Jersey.

Mrs. Schaaf was born September 15, 1932 in Collingswood, New Jersey to the late
John and Irene (O'Shea) Stretch. She was a lifelong resident of North Brunswick.
Johann was a Teacher’s Aide for North Brunswick Board of Education, where she worked until retirement. She was a Eucharistic Minister at St. Augustine of
Canterbury Church in Kendall Park and one of the founding parishioners of the
Church. Johann enjoyed being a member of the St. Augustine Choir for many years. She loved to cook and valued teaching everyone else how to cook. She was also an avid painter and a very talented artist. Johann loved to sing and play the guitar or banjo with friends and family.

She was preceded in death by her sisters, Irene and Zita.

She is survived by her loving husband of 66 years, Edward R. Schaaf; her son,
Edward, and his wife Johanna Schaaf; her daughter, Karen, and her husband Terry
Coe; her sister, Betty; her grandchildren, Terry, Joshua and Hanna and her great granddaughter, Madison.

Family and friends may visit on Friday, November 9 th from 9:30 A.M. to 10:30
A.M. at the Gleason Funeral Home, 1360 Hamilton Street, Somerset, NJ 00873.

A Mass of Christian Burial will follow, beginning at 11:00 A.M. at St. Augustine of Canterbury Church in Kendall Park. Burial and committal service will continue at Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veterans’ Cemetery in Wrightstown, NJ.
