Obituary for Caroline Timko

Caroline Timko
Mrs. Caroline Timko passed away peacefully on Friday morning at the Bridgeway Care Center in Bridgewater.

She was 83 years old. Mrs. Timko was born in Somerville and lived most of her life in Hillsborough. As a youngster, she lived and worked on the family poultry farm in Hillsborough. She graduated from Somerville High School as well as Trenton State College (now the College of New Jersey) with a degree in mathematics. Mrs. Timko taught math in the Roselle Park Public School system but eventually left full-time teaching to raise her children and to assist in the family businesses. Mrs. Timko enjoyed music and gave private piano lessons out of her home. She also loved her church and was actively engaged in numerous religious and social activities. Most notably, she was a founding member of the Ss. Peter and Peter School of Religion. Perhaps her proudest accomplishment was teaching and preparing generations of second graders for First Holy Communion and first Confession for over twenty-five years at Saints Peter and Paul Byzantine Catholic Church in Somerset, New Jersey.

Mrs. Timko was pre-deceased by her beloved husband Michael in 1992.

She is survived by a brother Wesley Gerechka of Hillsborough. She is also survived by her four loving daughters and their spouses: Carol and Gary Noyes of Manassas, Virginia, Theresa and Frank Cleary of Flemington, Dr. Michelle Timko and Christopher Aleo of Hillsborough and Elizabeth and Greg Aleo of Hillsborough. Mrs. Timko's seven grandchildren were a source of great joy to her: Nicholas and Melissa Aleo, Stephanie, Meghan and Emily Aleo, and Grant and Michael Noyes.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, September 2nd from 2-4 and 7-9 PM at the Gleason Funeral Home 1360 Hamilton Street in Somerset. On Monday morning, September 3rd there will be an 11 AM funeral liturgy at Saints Peter & Paul Byzantine Catholic Church 285 Hamilton Street in Somerset.
