Carol J. Sas, 83, passed away on Tuesday, August 21, at her home in Somerset, New Jersey.
Mrs. Sas was born August 12, 1935 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to the late Lawrence and Martha (Adams) Burns. In 1963, she relocated and settled in Somerset.
Carol was the Executive Director for NJSFWC in New Brunswick, where she worked for 40 years. She was a member of the Cedar Wood Woman’s Club, the Franklin Woman’s Club, the Phoenix Club, the State EX Club, P.E.O, N.A.P. and the Meadow’s Foundation. Carol was a 60 year member of the Women’s Club; she was the organizer of friends of Franklin Township Library and was an avid 25 year season ticket holder of Rutgers Football. She also enjoyed spending time with her family down at the Jersey Shore.
Mrs. Sas was predeceased by her spouse, Richard A. Sas and her twin brother, Robert Burns.
She is survived by her daughter, Patricia Notarianni and her husband Joseph; her son, Jason Sas; her granddaughters, Casey and Nicole Notarianni; her cousin, Barbara Adams; nieces, nephews and many friends.
Family and friends may visit on Sunday, August 26th from 2-6 P.M. at Gleason Funeral Home, 1360 Hamilton Street, Somerset, NJ 08873.
Funeral services will begin at 10:00 A.M. Monday, August 27th at Somerset Presbyterian Church in Somerset. Entombment will follow at Franklin Memorial Park Mausoleum in North Brunswick.
