Joan Marie Kolesar
Mrs. Joan Kolesar passed away on Wednesday at Kindred Hospital in Rahway. She was 82 years old.
Mrs. Kolesar was born in Manhattan to John and Marie Joyce and grew up in Elizabeth. She also lived in Edison prior to moving to North Brunswick in 1976. She was a parishioner at Our Lady of Lourdes Church in Milltown where she was a member of the Rosary Altar Society. She also volunteered her time at Our Lady of Lourdes Church Christmas Bazaar. She enjoyed knitting, reading, shopping, going out to lunch and most of all loved spending time with her grandchildren.
Mrs. Kolesar was employed for many years at Colgate-Palmolive in Piscataway. After retirement, she managed Dancin on the Moon store in Somerset.
She was predeceased by her grandson, Ryan Youngman in 2008.
She is survived by her loving husband, Robert Kolesar of North Brunswick, her children, Kathleen (Stephen) of North Brunswick, Robert Kolesar, Jr. (Cathy) of Milltown and Anne-Marie (Thomas) O’Shea of Hilliard, Ohio. Her brother, John Joyce (Marie) of Spring Hill, Florida. Brother in Law, William Kolesar of Monmouth Junction. Her grandchildren, Bryan, Kevin, Bridget, Kelli, Kristen, Mary-Kate, Sean, Colleen, Robert, Tim, and Tara and her great-grandchildren, Carly, Andrew and Noah.
Visiting will take place on Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM at the Gleason Funeral Home, 1360 Hamilton Street in Somerset. Funeral services will begin on Tuesday morning at Gleason Funeral Home at 9:30 AM followed by a 10:30 AM Mass at Our Lady of Lourdes Church. Entombment will follow at Resurrection Cemetery in Piscataway. In lieu of Flowers, donations can be made to Embrace Kids Foundation in New Brunswick. www.embracekids.org
