Obituary for Joe Roach

Joe Roach
Joe Lewis Roach was born on April 26th 1936, to the late Lewis Roach and Mandy Miller in Gretna, VA
Virginia. Joe departed this life on Tuesday, February 6, 2018 (age 81) at Robert Wood Johnson Hospital.
Joe moved to New Jersey in 1954 at the age of 18. He worked at Kentile Floors in South Plainfield. He was a business owner for much of his time and owned three gas and service stations in the cities of South Plainfield, Plainfield, and Edison, New Jersey. Joe retired from Dayton Fords in South Brunswick, New Jersey in early 2000.
Joe loved driving his white truck, spending time with his grand and great-grand children. He was beloved by many generations of the Churchill Community because of his friendly “demeanor”.
On September 19, 1966 Joe was united in matrimony to his wife, the late Pearl Roach. In this harmonious union, Joe had 7 children.
Joe was predeceased by his step-daughter, Marquita Caroll; and his siblings, Abby, Tiller, Arlean, Ruth and Floyd.
Surviving are his 2 step-children Debra Caroll-James and William Alexander James; (from his marrige) Yvette Roach, Osunjoseph Roach, Cherita Hall and Tanya "Pepper" Barlow.
13 grandchildren: Robert Caroll, Keisha Caroll, Carnell Caroll, Andre Caroll, Diara Caroll, Shaon Roach, Dominique Roach, Terrance Hall, Matthew Hall, Briana Barlow, Rajah Wilcox Jr., Fallon Wilcox and Yasmine Sky Wilks/Roach; his 10 great-grandchildren; his brother and last living sibling, Namon Roach (Nancy) of Gretna, Virginia and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Joe also leave to mourn his special “BFF” Rajah Wilcox Sr.
