Obituary for A. Richard Canavesio

A. Richard Canavesio passed away on Thursday February 8, 2018 at his home in Somerset. He was 83 years old. He was being cared for by his loving wife Mary and his grandson Richard Hinkle.
Mr. Canavesio was born in Somerset and remained a lifetime resident of Franklin Township. He served our country faithfully in the United States Army. He retired as a Sergeant from the Franklin Township Police Department after 27 years of service to the force.
He was pre-deceased by his parents Adolph Canavesio, Helen Homyak Canavesio and his sister Evelyn Canavesio Bialkowski.
Mr. Canavesio is survived by his wife of 47 years Mary Canavesio and daughters Rene Nelson, Helen Mendez and her husband Cesar and Diane Mendez. He is also survived by a sister Nancy Giordano and husband Ralph, 11 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
Visiting will be held from 4:30-6:30 PM on Monday at the Gleason Funeral Home 1360 Hamilton Street in Somerset. Graveside services will be on Tuesday at 10:30 AM at St. Peter’s cemetery in New Brunswick
