William Casazza passed away on Wednesday morning at St. Luke’s Hospital in Bethlehem, PA. He was 88 years old. Mr. Casazza was born in Brooklyn and was a graduate of Fort Hamilton High School in Brooklyn. He served our country faithfully in the United States Army and graduated from Fordham University. Shortly after he began his thirty plus year career with Colgate Palmolive. He retired in 1986 as a Chemist from Colgate Palmolive Research Center in Piscataway.

Mr. Casazza moved to the Somerset area with his wife Eileen and his young family in 1964. He was a founding parishoner of St. Matthias Parish in Somerset where he served as an Usher. He was a member of the Cedar Hill Swim Club for many years where he enjoyed playing tennis, handball, volleyball.

He was pre deceased by his wife of nearly 50 years, Eileen Casazza in 2008 and his siblings Theodore and Robert Casazza, Kathryn Jensen and Gloria Birsner.

Mr. Casazza is survived by his children and their spouses Nancy Hratko and husband John of Nazareth, PA., Bill Casazza and wife Lori of High Point, NC. and Paul Casazza and wife Lisa of Somerset. He is also survived by his grandchildren Natalie, Melanie, Analiese, Zack, Caitlin, Andrew and Hunter.

Services will begin on Saturday morning at 10 AM at the Gleason Funeral Home 1360 Hamilton Street in Somerset followed by a 10:30 AM funeral mass at St. Matthias Church in Somerset. Interment will follow at Cedar Grove Cemetery in Somerset. Visitation will be held on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM at the Gleason Funeral Home. Contributions in Mr. Casazza’s name may be made to St. Jude’s Children Hospital at www.stjude.org
