Lillian Ann Fennell passed away on Friday December 23rd, 2017 at the Regency Jewish Heritage Nursing Center in Somerset, at the age of 100.
Lillian was born June 18th 1917 in Jersey City NJ. She is the daughter of the late Emil and Ida (Bolton) Smith. Shortly after Graduation from High School she began her professional career working in Manhattan. Lillian was married to her husband George for 55 years. They settled in Jersey City and in 1954 relocated to Middletown NJ, where they raised their two boys and later moved to Kendall Park.
Mrs. Fennell was employed for many years by the Middletown Board of Education before retiring.
Lillian is survived by her loving son Greg and his wife Pat Fennell of Wilmington NC. Four Grandchildren and Five Great Grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her husband George, her son George Fennell, her sister Muriel Frye, her brother Vincent Smith and granddaughter Lauren Fennell.
Mrs. Fennell was a member of Christ the King Lutheran Church in Kendall Park.
Lillian loved her angels and was never without one.
She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend who was always gracious and made you feel at home with her warm smile and infectious laugh.
Visitation will be in Gleason Funeral Home, 1360 Hamilton St. Somerset NJ, from 2-4 and 7-9 PM on Thursday, December 28th.
A funeral service will take place on Friday December 29th, 2017 at 10:00 A.M. at Christ the King Lutheran Church, Kendal Park. Interment will follow at Resurrection Cemetery in Piscataway.
