Mr. Steven Zavodnick passed away peacefully with his family at his side on Monday December 25, 2017 at his home in Waretown. He was 67 years old.
Mr. Zavodnick was born in New Brunswick but lived for many years in Franklin Township. He graduated from Franklin Township High School and attended Trenton State College. He was a traveling musician playing the drums in a variety of different bands and was the co-owner of Alko General Construction and American Construction Management. Mr. Zavodnick played an intricate role in the redevelopment of the Franklin Township Villagers Theatre.
He was predeceased by his father, Sam Zavodnick.
Mr. Zavodnick is survived by his wife of 40 years Jo Ann Zavodnick of Waretown, his mother Lucille Zavodnick of Florida and his children Scott Zavodnick and his wife Amanda of Manville, Joseph Zavodnick and his wife Diana of Somerville and Lauren Zavodnick of Manville. He is also survived by his brother Alan Zavodnick and his wife Marlene of Florida and sister Lynn Samberg and her husband Arthur of North Carolina, two grandchildren, Sophia and Luca Zavodnick and his nieces and nephews Daniel Zavodnick and his wife Pauline, Rebecca Jesin and her husband Yehezkel, Mark Samberg and his partner Cody Hamrick, Stuart Samberg and his wife Brandy, Chris Smith and his wife Leah and Dale Smith and his wife Shelley.
A funeral service will take place on Tuesday December 26, 2017 at 10:30 AM at the Gleason Funeral Home 1360 Hamilton Street in Somerset. Please arrive by 10:15. Interment will follow at Cedar Grove cemetery in Somerset.
