George H. Andreach
George H. Andreach, 83, passed away on Tuesday, December 12, surrounded by his family.
Mr. Andreach was born July 27, 1934 in Union, NJ to the late Anthony and Gertrude (Foran) Andreach. He grew up in Irvington and relocated to Bridgewater, where he lived for more than forty years. He then settled to Somerset, where he resided for the past five years.
George honorably served in the Army during peacetimes from 1953 to 1955. He was a parishioner of St. Elisabeth's Chapel in Ortley Beach. George was a proud member of the Irvington High School Varsity Club as well as the Upsala College Alumni Club. George played football in high school and in college. He coached football at the college level for several years. He had a long and distinguished career as a sales representative for EMC Publishing Company, until his retirement in 2012.
Mr. Andreach loved spending time at his beach house in Lavallette where he enjoyed sitting on the deck with a view of the ocean. Above all, George was most happy in the company of his family and friends. He was a devoted husband, a loving father and uncle, a caring brother, an adoring grandfather and a loyal friend; he will be missed by many.
George was predeceased by his brother, James Andreach.
He is survived by his loving wife, Elaine Andreach; his son, Chris Andreach and his wife Lauren, his daughter, Lynne Schwarz and her husband Steven; his brother, Robert Andreach; his four grandchildren, Scott, Madeline, Natalie and William and many nephews and friends.
Family and friends may visit from 1-4 P.M. on Saturday, December 16th at the Gleason Funeral Home, 1360 Hamilton Street, Somerset, NJ 08873. Memorial service will begin at 3:00 P.M.
